THE CHETTLE BACKPACK
Small artisan tanners and curriers working in the valleys of mid Europe, produce this beautiful leather from animals that have lived a wild and free life in the surrounding higher altitude scrublands. Using pure mountain stream water, they pit tan the skins over many months. The skins produced are amongst the most natural you will find and retain the cuts, grazes insect bites and natural growth wrinkles that define the character of each skin. Every skin of course being different.
The main chamber is designed to carry all you need for an afternoon walk, pack a sandwich, a cagoule or jumper and of course a bottle of water. The outer pocket will house valuables securely and has a slip pocket behind it to hold a map.
Solid brass buckles and loops hand cast in England. Brass rivets.
Hand stitched using 100% 'Tigre Thread’ for rot resistant durability (Tigre is a brand name). Approx. 750 saddle stitches.
DYE and PROTECTION
Tannery dyed. Protection includes ‘Aussie Leather Protection’ for water and weather temperature resistance.
