I am available by email or telephone 9am-8pm Mondays to Sundays and will always respond as soon as possible to each alert. You will find me courteous and helpful before and after each sale. I want you to enjoy using your bag or belt as much as I enjoyed making it for you. I will not offer for sale a product that I do not consider fit for purpose or would adversely affect my reputation in any way. However, if for any reason, you are dissatisfied with a product I have made, simply return it to me in its original condition within seven days of purchase for a full refund. As I don’t charge P&P to send items to the UK I will not refund your return costs of post and packing etc. Back to About
To fully understand leather is a study so I will restrict this information to the leather I use and what you need to know about it. I use natural, full grain, aniline leather which means that whilst the leather has been dyed, it has received no finishing top coat other than the oils and treatments intended to add lustre and weather proofing of the product. Only top grade skins are suitable for aniline leather and for that reason it is expensive. It is important for customers to understand that this leather retains its ‘grain’ which consists of the animal’s skin creases, pores, scars, scratches and insect bites etc. It is this grain that gives the leather its character, tells the animals history and is cherished by those like me who love this type of leather. I have no machines for my leather work and therefore make every product using only hand tools. Designs are drawn on graph paper to produce templates for each piece which is cut using a ruler for straight edges and freehand with a scalpel for curved edges. Pieces are glued together to hold them in place whilst being saddle stitched together using mainly polyester thread, which is very strong and maintains its looks. There possibly is no stronger method of joining two pieces of leather. However, being handmade sometimes means that levels of consistency may not equal that achieved by machine adding further nuances to the appearance and character of the product which makes every single piece unique. I am a hobbyist leather worker aiming to sell his products to fund the next project. If you have a specific request for a unique product to resell then by all means contact me. I m not interested in bulk quantities of the same thing, most of my work are 'one-offs' and otherwise produced in small numbers. This keeps my work interesting and challenging.
